Stuttgart Succession Day of the IHK Stuttgart Region

Every year, around 3,300 medium-sized companies in the Stuttgart region face a change of generation – a crucial stage in the company’s history that needs to be well prepared for.

As part of an exciting panel discussion, Osama Dengler, owner and managing director of Areus GmbH, shared his experiences of taking over the family business last year.
He provided valuable insights into how successful company succession can be achieved – from overcoming a wide range of challenges to shaping the future.

What an inspiring day! reus – along with several other companies and institutions – was a guest at the Freie Ev. Schule in Holzgerlingen for job application training.

The students had already prepared application folders for their desired professions in advance. Mr. Dengler and Ms. Bayer simulated intensive 15-minute job interviews with the students in the role of recruiters from the sector of the desired profession. After the interviews, the “applicants” not only received 5 minutes of feedback, but also a feedback questionnaire specially created by the school.

Areus then presented the company and its products at a small careers fair. It was great to be part of this committed and forward-looking program!

Breakout box for sound amplifier facilitates amplifier and loudspeaker tests

Areus has developed a new breakout box that is specifically optimized for amplifier and loudspeaker testing.

The breakout box is a tool used in ECU development that provides easy access to all relevant ECU signals. With the new version, engineers and technicians can now perform amplifier and loudspeaker tests even faster and more effectively.

Due to its design, the breakout box can be used very universally and allows access to all relevant ECU signals.

In full setup mode, the breakout box is connected between the vehicle’s original wiring harness or a test setup and the amplifier The box then offers various options such as interrupting a speaker channel to simulate a cable break or connecting another speaker instead of the original speaker in the vehicle. The led out debug signals allow recording of debug information and the accessible CAN bus the possibility to record CAN traces or to additionally feed messages on the bus.

In amplifier-only mode, the breakout box is connected to the amplifier on one end only, while the second cable end remains unconnected. Through the standardized 4 mm lab jacks, the amplifier can be supplied with voltage, CAN signals can be sent or received and, if necessary, woken up. Another lab jack allows to test e.g. the mute function. As soon as the amplifier is ready for operation, the desired loudspeakers can be connected via the lab jacks. Alternatively, it is also possible to short-circuit a speaker channel in order to perform corresponding fault memory tests.

In speaker-only mode, the breakout box is connected on one side to the wiring harness in the vehicle to contact the installed speakers. These can then be conveniently contacted electrically via the lab jacks without modifying the original wiring harness. For example, an alternative amplifier can be installed in the vehicle trunk in order to test the original speakers with it.

When it comes to data protection, regulatory compliance processes and information security, our customers have high expectations. Confidentiality, availability and integrity of information are therefore very important to us.

Car manufacturers and suppliers are using the Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX®) as a basis for ensuring a comparable information security assessment. The TISAX® specifications build on the ISO 27001 security standard and are derived from the information security standard for the automotive industry (VDA ISA) defined by the VDA. All areas from the organization, IT and data protection are covered. Issues of particular importance to the automotive industry, such as prototype and data protection, also play an important role. The ENX Association supports with TISAX (Trusted Information Security Exchange) on behalf of the VDA the joint approval of information security assessments in the automotive industry (https://enx.com/tisax).

By receiving this label, the Areus team has impressively demonstrated that responsible and reliable handling of information from our business partners is actively practiced.

Areus goes electric!

Auf dem Weg zu einer nachhaltigen Mobilitätsstrategie stellt die Firma Areus ihren Firmenfahrzeugpool auf Elektrofahrzeuge um. Zum Laden der Fahrzeuge werden 5 Wallboxen aufgestellt. Jede Wallbox kann zwei Elektroautos gleichzeitig laden und stellt pro Ladepunkt eine Ladeleistung von bis zu 22 kW bereit. Die Wallboxen werden ausschließlich mit Strom aus erneuerbaren Energiequellen versorgt, der u.a. aus der eigenen PV-Anlage kommt. Wir wollen damit zur Erreichung der Klimaneutralität beitragen.👍🌲🍃

BOGY practical training

This week, two inquisitive and committed BOGY interns from the Stiftsgymnasium in Sindelfingen, Germany, got a taste of electrical engineering at Areus.

As part of their career orientation internship, Ari and Polat independently created a hand-drawn circuit layout – based on a given audio amplifier schematic – and used it to build prototype electronics.
